"Captive" refers to industrial plugs defined by the AS/NZS 3123 standard. They are often referred to as "Clipsal plugs" or "Wilco plugs" which are both brand names. There are a number of general ‘clones’ now available which are interchangeable with the above branded product.
Racklink Clipsal Plug & Socket Cables
Clipsal plugs and socket cables are captive type power cable connectors designed to offer greater security against accidental disconnections. When connected, Clipsal plugs form a secure connection with the device, making it resistant to removal or disconnection from pulling or tripping actions.
The security offered by Clipsal plugs makes the sockets ideal for use with equipment that require a stable and often permanent source of power, such as with industrial equipment, data centres, or medical equipment. Using Clipsal sockets allows equipment to be protected from vibration or accidental movement, offering greater workplace safety and optimal operational efficiency.
RackLink’s collection of captive plugs and socket cables are 100% compatible with other models of 'Clipsal' industrial connectors and are designed in compliance with Australian Standards for electrical safety.
