High-temperature power cables are required for appliances and electronics that function in high-temperature environments. Home appliances generally have heating elements that can reach extreme temperatures, while commercial electronic devices, such as network switches, are housed in server setups where frequently exposed to heated air from ventilation. To provide sufficient protection for electrical components and minimise risk of fire hazards, power cords for devices must have a high-temperature rating between 120 to 155 °C.
